Last Friday, we drove to see Mike’s best friend, Owen, his wife Ashley, and their four beautiful children. This is actually the only photo I took of the kids. We were so busy that I didn’t even think about my camera most of the time. Feeding seven kiddos, two baseball games, gymnastics, a birthday party, and visits with Owen’s parents kept us hopping for the 40ish hours we were there.
Oh yeah, and there was Risk. Which is taken very seriously by the male folk. These battles began when they were in high school. I love the expressions in the photos below – even if they are blurry! Of course, I was the first one to lose!
As always, we had a great time. We are so blessed to have friends like Owen and Ashley. It’s just so easy with them. We hadn’t been to their house since Bo was a baby (and they were here right after the girls turned 1!) but even though they’ve welcomed a new baby (the adorable Baby O – whom I didn’t get a photo of!!) and we’ve all continued to live crazy lives as parents, it felt like we were just there yesterday. We can all pick up without a hitch. Love them.
We all stayed at Owen and Ashley’s, which meant eleven of us under one roof! Luckily, there house is more than accommodating! Bo slept on the bottom of Caleb’s bunk bed. He had a bit of trouble falling asleep since Caleb’s room is so neat and he was so excited about the bunk beds, but once he did, he did just fine. Clara and Anna attempted to sleep in the double bed in the guest room, but when I went to check on them before we went to sleep, I found Clara curled up in the corner of the room. My guess is that Anna kicked her out – literally and figuratively. I covered her up and they made it until about 4:00 when I joined them in their bed and they thrashed about until I let them get up at 6:30.
We put the kiddos in pjs on Saturday evening and left Wentzville around 6:50. The girls were asleep before we even hit the interstate – and these are kiddos who usually don’t sleep in the car! They were exhausted! However, now that our kiddos are getting bigger, I’m hoping we’ll all be able to carve out more time to get together in the near future.

And don’t forget lunch at Pizza Pro!
Thanks for running around with us. Love you guys!!! Next time we’ll have to take more pics of all the kiddos. Caleb caught the Risk bug … stayed up playing ’til midnight & he won.
