I’m choosing to call these goals instead resolutions. Last year, I wrote about my goals for the year, and many of them were the same overarching themes that I addressed in 2007. I’m still striving for all of those things, but this year, I’ve broken my goals down into an outline and many of the goals are more specific than they’ve been in recent years. For example, last year I did manage to start running and participated in my first 5k. This year, I want to be able to run the entire 5k – no walking! Here’s what I’ll be striving for this year:
1. Be more productive.
A. No procrastinating
B. Keep goals in sight
C. Establish specific Facebook and email times each day instead of leaving the windows open while I work.
D. Budget – time and money.
1. Is this really worth my time?
2. Is this really worth the money? (Both money earned and money spent.)
2. Be healthier/lose weight.
A. Be able to run next year’s Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving. All of it.
B. Keep my food journal every day this year.
C. Eat out less – cook more real, whole food. Clean eating.
D. Exercise at least 30 minutes daily.
E. Remember that every day is not a “special” day and not a reason to eat poorly/not exercise.
3. Be a better mom.
A. More projects and learning activities
B. More reading time
C. More quality time
D. More play dates, trips to the park, and adventures
4. Establish my writing career and maintain my teaching career.
A. Complete 1 writing task each day. Blogging doesn’t count.
B. Keep blogging.
C. Have 10 new clips for my writing site by June 1.
D. Four schools is enough for now – stop applying!
5. Be less stressed from finding more balance.
A. Eat right
B. Exercise 30 minutes daily
C. Manage my workload
D. Spend quality time with my hubby and kiddos
E. Remember my priorities – i.e. family before work
F. Stop worrying about things that are out of my control
F. More technology free time – “Dinner Hour” with no phone or technology from 4 to 6 each day.

I’ve started a “New Year, New You” Group on Facebook to help with weight loss, health, fitness, meal planning, recipes, etc. I’m hoping it will be a positive experience and provide the support I need with meeting my health, fitness, and weight loss goals this year. Message me if you’re interested in joining. We have all types – from marathoners to those who need to lose quite a bit of weight and plenty in-between.
January is a big month, as I have goal to lose 10 pounds. I am restarting the Couch to 5k, after uncovering my treadmill from the Christmas hoopla and doing Slim in 6 as well. I’m also going no sugar for the month. This means no white flour, no white rice, no sugar, and clean eating. Expect me to be a bit grumpy for a few days while my body adjusts. I think I really need to detox from my sugar consumption. I’ll also be doing Shakeology every day this month, which I am excited about. I became a TeamBeachBody coach to save Mike and I money on our Shakeology and I have samples of the chocolate Shakeology available. Message me with your mailing address if you’re interested. The cost is $5.

Go Jamie! I think these are all very realistic goals and ones I know I should strive for as well.
Where do I sign up at?
I am sure you will accomplish all of your goals, as you are one determined woman.
Holy resolution list, Jamie!!! I like #1C; I’ll have to borrow that for my much shorter, more vague list (befitting an INFP, LOL). I should probably also do a sugar detox, as should N. Well, be sure to plan some downtime for yourself. I don’t know of anyone else who works harder than you. Really!
