New Year, New Blog

Welcome to 2011!!  Wasn’t it just 1999 yesterday??

Each year, I seem to come back to the resolutions I wrote in 2007.  All of these still hold true as the overarching goals I would like to work towards this year.  However, I have a few, more specific goals I want to implement this year as well.

Like everyone else in the free world, I would really like to lose 10 lbs by Valentine’s day.  We are going to Vegas for our anniversary and I know I’ll feel better and look better if I shed my holiday weight gain.  I need to exercise at least five times a week and track my food.  The only time I’ve had significant results from weight loss is when I track my food, so I know that will be an important part of this resolution.  I am planning to use Spark People.

My other goal for this year is revitalizing the blog and writing more.  During the last year the blog went into survival mode (along with the rest of my life) but I’m ready to work on building the blog again and writing posts that are more than photos of my family (although those will still be here too).  I want to work on my writing and share more of myself with my readers.  The first step of this process is to move the blog over to a self-hosted WordPress site – Happy New Year!  My main address is now http://www.stickyfeet2.com/

You’ll notice that the basic design is similar but there are some changes.  There is now only one sidebar on the right side and I’ve also added a Facebook fan page.  If you’d like to follow the blog on Facebook click “like” in the sidebar.  If you do this, the blog feed will show up in your Facebook news feed.  I’m going to be hosting a few giveaways for those of you that are my Facebook fans, so be sure to do this if you’re interested in winning some neat prizes!

You can also subscribe to the blog easier and follow me on Facebook and Twitter simply by clicking the buttons by our family picture in the sidebar.

I’m also adding password protected posts.  This month I’ll be posting every day under the password for my own “30 Days of Truth”.  If you’re interested in reading along with these posts, you must like Sticky Feet on Facebook or follow me on Twitter as well as request the password from me.  Sorry, real life family and friends, you won’t be privy to these posts.

You’ll probably notice more changes as I learn more about WordPress and complete the transition.

Big thanks to Jennette Fulda for all of her help making the switch!

Those of you that already use WordPress, are there any plugins you would recommend?

Good luck on the 10 lbs, I know you can do it! I am doing Weight Watchers this year, it worked once and hopefully it will again! 50 lbs to get down to my college weight!
I would also like the password for those missing posts :) I just friend requested you on Facebook :)

  7. Guess this is why I was having trouble. I saw your FB page and liked it. I would love to see your password protected posts, but understand if you don’t want to share…since hopefully we’ll be meeting up in person some day!!

How do you like Spark People? I tried it out a few years ago before I did Weight Watchers and came back to Spark People after having Drake. It worked for me, and I am finally at my pre-pregnancy weight.
