On Friday, Mike and I took Bo to the Day Out with Thomas event that was held at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL. Mike and I were both disappointed that Thomas was not a real steam engine. However, Bo didn’t seem to notice. He was pretty excited, but refused to let me take his photo by Thomas.
Bo gave his ticket to the conductor and here he is holding his ticket as we wait for the train to depart.

The only picture of all three of us from our outing. It was a VERY warm day — in the low 90′s and we were all quite hot.

Overall, it was a very fun trip and I’m glad we took him. I’m also very glad we did not take the girls – it was too hot and crowded. We were able to see numerous restored trains and we bought Bo the special “Day Out with Thomas” train as a souvenir. A good time was had by all and I highly recommend this event for the parents of any Thomas enthusiast. It was very well done. And did you know Ringo Starr owns Thomas??
Glad you had fun despite the heat! I have many fond memories of getting overheated at the Railroad Days in Burlington, IA. I & N like Thomas — they are watching a program right now. I didn't know it was owned by Ringo Starr, but I am fully aware that Pierce Brosnan narrated the movie, and thus it's in my Amazon queue. : )

We took Gus on Saturday. I had won tickets. It was hotter than heck but Gus was so excited to see Thomas. I hope he will remember this but he probably won't. I didn't get a good family pic of the 4 of us but I at least got a good shot of the kids and Tyler.
I'm glad you guys got to take Bo. That would have been neat to actually go on the same day and see you guys.
