This week’s ask Jamie is responses to various questions that were asked in the comments this week.
Michelle asks:
MUST KNOW! Where’d you get the great birthday shirt? Hoping you ordered it online… have a December bday boy and love that shirt!!
Bo’s birthday shirt (seen in this post and this post) is from a great store I discovered on Etsy called FlyDuds. Everything is very reasonably priced, adorable, and really good quality. I highly recommend them. (And no, nothing was given to me in exchange for this endorsement.) I think Bo and the girls will end up receiving several shirts from their store as time passes!
If it didn’t come from Target or Kohl’s, I ordered it online. I do almost all of my shopping online these days. I can’t remember the last time I went to the mall. Not that I wouldn’t like to… it’s just time restraints don’t really make that much of an option.
Michelle also mentioned our clean hardwood floors in her comment. Mike got on his hands and knees the night before Bo’s birthday and cleaned the floor with a sponge. He’s determined that is the only way to really get it clean. Mopping leaves it wet and it streaks. Hardwood is SOOO much more difficult to take care of than the tile in our old kitchen!

I am planning a Cars themed party for my soon to be four year old son and would LOVE to see a more detailed picture of your cake… I am trying to make it myself.
Unfortunately, the picture I posted of the cake is the best one. The cake was huge and difficult to photograph due to it’s size (Mike ended up taking over half of it to work!). The main premise of the cake was a road down the middle to put the cars on. Next year, I hope to make Bo’s cake myself again. This year, there just wasn’t time.

Love the pictures! Which girl is in brown? She looks like Bo to me and I think he looks like you. Does the other girl resemble Mike?
Clara is in the brown outfit. Anna is in the pink. Mike and I both think that Anna looks a lot like Bo as a baby. And acts more like him in a lot of ways too. Several people have said that Clara looks more like me and I do think she may end up with brown eyes. Her hair is darker than Anna’s too. Most people think Bo looks like Mike and I think Anna looks more like both of them. But who knows. As Mike said the other night when we were discussing it — they are all going to look somewhat alike, they are siblings. It will be interesting to see what features they all share as they grow older.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to label the pictures so everyone knows who is who. To me, they look totally different so I don’t really think about it but I know that it is difficult for those who aren’t around them constantly.

You need one of those electric steam mops that are all the craze right now. They just steam the floor…great for hardwood and tile…and they don't leave the floor wet.
