Yesterday, I noticed that one of the many emails sitting in my inbox was a coupon for a free photo book from Shutterfly. I haven’t had time to scrapbook any of Bo’s pictures since before Christmas so I knew there was no way that I could develop a whole book from scratch in the few hours I had yesterday evening (after grading a million poorly written papers) to have printed. I decided to put together a “cheater” book using one of the many templates that Shutterfly offers.

It still took me over an hour to place all of the pictures and add the text but that is a lot better than an hour per page that it took me to make the custom book I made for Bo last year. This template is by Jessica Sprague and I took a few of her digital scrapbooking classes last summer (www.jessicasprague.com) and really enjoyed them. (If you look through the book — please let me know if you notice any spelling or grammar errors. Thanks!
)
Unfortunately, I didn’t read the fine print. This template was not covered by the coupon. By the time I figured this out, it was nearly 11 and I had no energy to even try to put another book together. So now, this book is all together in my cart — but the question is — is is really worth the $45.99 it would take to have one 8×8 book printed?? Ugh. What do you think? Do you have any coupon codes you can share with me??
I did find the code below on my affiliate site – it will save me $5. I know, photos are priceless — but I really thought the book would be free! Wah!

Jamie,
That book is cute as a bug! Yes, it is worth $46…remember when you use to sit and look at your baby pictures? We use to have fun looking at all the old pictures. Bo will enjoy these books in the future.
Love Mom
I have used this site for codes for shutterfly: http://www.couponwinner.com/MerchantCoupons.aspx?MID=821
Type in shuttefly coupons in a search engine and start plugging them in. I have saved $30+ before by finding codes online.
I think the book is cute, by the way! I need to make one from our Disney trip.
Wow, that's really cute! You've inspired me to go make one as well. I think it is definitely worth the money. I also use the website http://www.howfastheygrow.com to make really good quality "scrapbook" pages. I'm way behind though, as you can imagine! I used to scrapbook manually and I have tons of supplies at home (and a still unfinished wedding scrapbook – we were married in 2002) but it just takes so long to make each page that I went digital. Some day I'll finish the wedding one though. :+)
Rebecca,
My wedding book is all paper. I made myself finish it before Bo was born because I knew I would never find the time otherwise!
It isn't like you've got a little going on right now, huh? I'm surprised you have time to comment with the twins home!

The book is seriously adorable!!! You had such great pics to use. It would be worth the $$ because of its cuteness, but I can understand you wanting to get a good deal, especially thinking it would be free. I looked for codes but didn't find anything good right now. My advice would be to save it in your cart until the next good sale they offer. I normally order when they're offering 20% off plus free shipping, which they do fairly often. Or you may even get lucky and get a coupon for a free 8×8 that does include that template. I assume you're signed up for their newsletter? That's how I find out about the deals.
Good job making a great keepsake!

You should do it. Hunter and Taylor still carry around that "who loves baby hunter" book I bought when hunter was a baby. And watch their videos all the time. On second thought, maybe they are just a little narcissistic.
Anyway, if you give this one to him you will never get it back. Buy 2
It looks great.
Jamie, I had the exact same thing happen to me about 6 months ago. I called Shutterfly and "played dumb" about why the coupon wasn't applying, and then told them my sob story about how I had spent 3 days getting the book put together… they ended up giving it to me for the free price plus shipping anyhow. (We had some Martha Stewart template picked out and also didn't realize that it was not free.)
Good luck!
The book looks great! No typos that I could find.
If you spent the time to remake the book from scratch, do you think you could make something just as good? The alphabet theme is pretty distinctive. Personally I enjoy stuff like that, but if you'd rather spend the time with Bo (or doing any of the hundreds of other things on your list), it's worth the money to just print this one.
drink coke, save the codes, enter online and collect coke points to print books on snapfish.com
but like the others, i'd keep it in your cart and wait for a good deal to come up.
