I’m in a different place than I thought I would be this Monday morning. It appears that Bo and I will be away from home for ten days, despite the fact I only packed for two!!
Mike, Bo, and I traveled to the in-laws this weekend to celebrate Grandma Sherri’s birthday with the rest of the family. Originally, we planned to stay two nights – Friday and Saturday.
As it turns out, Mike and I have dentist appointments up here next Saturday at 9 am. We planned to drive back again, next Friday to go to those appointments.
My mom went to visit a friend this week so I am on my own with the Bo/work combo and after much conversation, we decided to save Bo and I an extra ten hours in the car by just having us stay here for a few extra nights since I can work from anywhere. Mike will take off work on Thursday and Friday so we can go to the zoo or maybe the aquarium.
This definitely isn’t what I had planned for the week. I was planning to visit some friends, possibly have my cousin watch Bo for a few hours so I could work, etc. But this will be fun too. Bo and I will be able to go to several of the parks in the area, go shopping, and find some yummy snacks around here for a few days until Mike joins us again. Jim and Sherri will be working so Bo and I will be on our own, but at least we have a new area to explore.
Somehow, my weekend trip, where I packed two pairs of pants and three tops, and Bo had three outfits and three pairs of jammies, has turned into a ten day stay — I think I’ll be doing some laundry in between our explorations.

Sounds fun! Sometimes the unexpected vacations tend to be the most needed! Enjoy! We’ve had that laundry situation before!
As the kids get older, the stains become less!
Zach can rewear a shirt if needed without it looking dirty! Woo Hoo!
Hope you have fun. It’s these last minute things that usually turn out the funnest. Personally, I would see it as an excuse to go out and buy some clothes.
Or you can always go shopping which is more fun than laundry!
Kind of sounds like fun, and a good excuse to go shopping.
Oh well, its a great excuse to get a few new maternity outfits! Enjoy your extended vacation
Wow, throwing caution to the wind and doing something UNPLANNED – you go girl!!!
