Just Another Day In Paradise.

I really enjoyed the last time I wrote a post like this, so I decided to try it again. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to be nearly as creative as I was originally… I guess you could say my life has changed a little!

This was my day, Tuesday.

6:00 – Mike wakes me up with a kiss as he heads out the door to start his commute to work. I tell him I love him and to be careful. The same thing I say every morning — even if I am half asleep!

6:03 – I put my contacts in and stagger my way to the shower.

6:18 – Out of the shower. I lotion up and throw on my robe. I head downstairs where I pour myself a bowl of Blueberry Shredded Wheat and a 16 oz. glass of water. I make myself comfortable in my chair and check my email while I eat.

6:27 – Put bowl in sink. Start actual work on online class. Ugh. The details are boring… I’ll spare you.

7:15 – Take a break to blow dry my nearly dry hair.

7:45 – Bo starts stirring in his crib.

7:53 – Head up to Bo’s room. Pick him up and give him a big hug. Change his diaper and give him some “moose munch” (breastfeed).

8:14 – Dress Bo, bring him downstairs for some yogurt with fruit and cereal. Feed him.

8:23 – Give Bo some Cheerios and an aluminum pan to play with in his high chair while I unload the dishwasher.

8:32 – Take Bo back upstairs while I brush my teeth and get dressed.

8:47 – Put Bo on the floor in his room to play while I put away his laundry that I did last night.

8:56 – Read Bo If You Give a Moose a Muffin

9:12 – Back downstairs. Play with Bo on the main floor for a little while.

9:15 – Have the bright idea that walking to work would be a great way to fit some exercise into my day. Pack Bo up in the stroller, lace up tennis shoes, grab the school bag, Bo’s lunch bag, and my purse.

9:30 – Start walking to Grammie’s house. Check BlackBerry and talk to Bo on the way.

9:45 – Arrive at Grammie’s. Put Bo’s lunch in the fridge and wait for Grammie to change over her laundry.

9:53 – Start walking to school.

10:08 – Arrive at school. Realize I can’t get in the back gate since I don’t have my opener. Walk to the front of the school.

10:11 – Stop by the office to pick up my mail. Head to the bathroom to change my shoes.

10:15 – Arrive in my office. Get organized and start to grade papers, prepare lessons, etc. I won’t bore you with all of this too much…

11:15 – Lunch bell rings. Mandy and I head down to the cafeteria. It’s hoagie day. I choose a chicken patty instead.

11:22 – Eat lunch with the lunch crew in the journalism room.

12:00 – Lunch is over. Yearbook girls are invading.

12:06 – Break news to the girls that the principal won’t be on our cover.

12:17 – Take the older girls next door and brainstorm a new theme for the book. New idea is “Go Green. Bleed Orange.” Laugh hysterically about turtles. Get asked for the second time in two weeks if I’m on meds. (I’m not)

12:45 – Watch girls practice their spiel for ad sales. Ugh. They are loud.

1:20 – Go next door to check email, get stuff together, and avoid loudness.

1:30 – Head to next class – US History. Put out worksheets, make sure I have what I need.

1:36 – Take attendance, collect maps, give map quiz.

1:50 – Take students to the computer lab to work on American Revolution project. Ugh. They are loud.

2:34 – Kids are antsy. I’m bored. I remember why I hate group projects.

3:00 – Finally, the bell.

3:05 – Back in my office changing shoes. Ben stops by for a cookie. Several kids come by to pick up yearbooks.

3:10 – Head into Mandy’s room to say bye.

3:12 – Chat with Mrs. Frazier as I start my walk to Mom’s.

3:24 – After nearly being ran over multiple times by insane teenage drivers, arrive at my mom’s house. Bo is already up from his nap and bouncing on her knee. She says he didn’t sleep long.

3:30 – Hear about Bo’s day.

3:40 – Load up the stroller and start to walk home.

3:56 – Arrive home. Grab a Propel and take Bo upstairs with me while I change clothes.

4:03 – Come back downstairs. Give Bo a drink of my Propel. It drips on the floor. Great, another cleaning job for me!

4:06 – Let Bo play while I quickly check my email.

4:12 – Play on the floor with Bo.

4:45 – Take Bo upstairs for moose munch.

5:00 – Back downstairs to feed Bo and fix supper.

5:05 – My mom arrives. She takes over feeding Bo while I work on supper and cutting up food for Bo to eat both tonight and in his lunch tomorrow (pear, cherries, plum, green beans, and tomato). Luckily, it’s just leftover spaghetti, breadsticks, salad, and cookies tonight so supper isn’t very difficult.

5:20 – Mom goes out to smoke a cigarette. Grr

5:34 – Bo is on the floor playing with Mom. Dinner is about ready. Try to call Mikey to see if he would rather have a leftover hamburger and to tell him I already got the mail but it goes to voicemail.

5:44 – Mike walks in. He gives Bo a hug and puts him back in his high chair.
5:55 – We all sit down to supper. Bo eats pieces of breadstick and yougurt melts (yuck!) that he loves.

6:15 – Supper is over. We get the dishwasher loaded and clean up both Bo and the kitchen.

6:23 – My mom leaves.

6:30 – Mike makes a few phone calls, goes through the mail.

6:37 – Mike takes Bo up to put his jammies on. I start working on my online class.

6:57 – Phone call about some things I am wanting to sell.

7:04 – I head out to take things I am wanting to sell to the person I hope will sell them.

7:17 – Back home. Time to put Bo to bed. Mike and I both go up and put Bo down.

7:20 – Bo is down. I open my box from J.Crew. Decide I don’t like 90% of it and package it to send back.

7:30 – Back to work on my online class. Mike works out.

8:12 – Mike comes through to say he is going to take a shower.

8:30 – Still working on online class.

9:00 – Mike comes upstairs to ask about a question on a test I’ve convinced him to grade for me. He convinces me that we should both stop working soon.

9:12 – Mike and I watch a DVRed Jon and Kate Plus 8 in the basement.

10:00 – I head to the main floor to check my email and pump. Mike gets the cats in.

10:14 – Freeze two bags of milk. Head upstairs.

10:16 – We check on Bo. Smile at how cute he is. Make sure he is breathing. Turn out his light.

10:18 – We both head to our bathrooms to get ready for bed. I wash my face and brush my teeth.

10:21 – We are both in bed. We ponder reading but we are both exhausted. Lights out.

Just a typical day that will blend together into many days of the same basic routine.

And the best thing is, I get to do it all again tomorrow…
