After having stainless steel appliances for nearly five years I’ve finally figured out how to clean them! Woohoo for research on the Internet.
The how to:
1. wipe down appliances with a wet cloth diaper (make sure you wipe with the grain)
2. dry with a dish drying cloth
3. apply a small amount of baby oil on another cloth diaper wipe down the appliances (with the grain)
4. buff with another dish drying cloth
They look beautiful!!

I think this is amazing and a great idea. I went to the website www.infantswim.com and signed up to be on the waiting list to have these instructors come to my area. I really feel that this would be worthwhile as Mike’s parents have a pool and I hope that Bo will turn into quite the little fish. If you are interested please go to the site and find an instructor in your area or sign up to be on the waiting list.

I am sad to see Director Hartke resign — even if he is a Democrat! He was great to work with throughout my reign. He always had a smile and a hug for me — not to mention he took my political teasing exceptionally well!

Random advice needed:
1. I am searching for an exersaucer or jumperoo. Any suggestions for one that your child has used and enjoyed?
2. What toys or books were a must have for your child(ren) during the first year?

Check out the Fisherprice Rainforest Jumperoo. My daughter loves loves loves it. It got great reviews too.
I got an exersaucer on clearance at Walmart and Chicka’s happy as a clam in it. One important thing to me was that there were ATTACHED toys as she loved to throw things. We had a borrowed exersaucer with only a tray and no attachments and I was constantly picking stuff up.
We have a Fisher Price Jumperoo. We don’t use as much anymore but it was a godsend for a couple of months. It has it’s own frame which I would suggest. Chicka still goes nuts whenever we put her in it.
I would suggest finding friends with baby gear that you may want to buy and letting Bo give it a test run. Different kids like different things. (I read how so many kids LOVE the Jumperoo, so I bought one – Maggie thinks it’s ok. Doesn’t seem to be so into the jumping part of it, but she likes the toys well enough.)
Even better, hit up your friends with older kids who will loan/give you their stuff – I received two Exersaucers that way (one upstairs, one downstairs).
Hey!
Well, my advice on a saucer or jumper: get a fun Saucer! K has a jumper and doestn’ enjoy it nearly as much as she enjoyed our friend’s Exersaucer when we did a trade-off for a month. SHe actually cried when we traded back and got the Jumper again! For next baby, we’re doing a Saucer!

K loves the rattles and toys that are from Manhattan toy- we are lucky enough to have a friend who works for them, so we were gifted but I do notice she gravitates towards them!

She loves ANY type of rattle that makes fun noise, she LOVES her stacking rings, and loves the shape sorter blocks – loves to take the blocks out and bang them. She loves musical toys to dance to, and of course books. Her new awesome toy is the Laugh and Learn Kitchen, which you’ve seen in our pics, and she could spend every day playing with this thing! She loves the fridge and getting up on her knees to push on things.
The rainforest one looks similar to the one we have http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2984340
I like it because it’s a jumper and an exersaucer in one.
M&J still love it at almost 12 months!
